Some more tips for your oral presentations

1. Research your topic:

  •     Evaluate the credibility of the sources you are using.
  •     Include bibliography.
  •     Make sure you understand what you are reading.
  •     Collect research in a word document and save the links to your research.
2. Organize your presentation :

  • Decide on the topics you will discuss throughout your presentation. These will be the titles for your slides. Write and index so that your audience knows what to expect from your presentation.
  • Write your script based on the research in your word document. You must PARAPHRASE, memorising things from your research is plagiarism.
  • Introduction- Introduce your topic with something that can attract your audience's attention. It can be a question, an amazing fact or a personal experience.
  • Body- This is the main part of your presentation. Organize the information well, the points must have a logical sequence and you should always give examples and explain details to support your ideas.
  • Conclusion- Summarize your presentation and restate the most important points.
3. Write cue cards with some keywords to help you remember what you have to say.
4. Practice in front of a friend or your family and remember, you should always say more than what
    is on the slide.
